Hi, I am Dorien May. Audiovisual artist – music composer, singer, pianist, guitarist, drummer, producer, and videographer. Through music, I want to tell a story.

When writing music, every artist has their approach to expressing a particular emotion. At the end of the day, it doesn’t matter what instruments or sounds they use. I think it’s more of a personal choice. Everyone has their preferences, including me.

My goal is clear. It is to do whatever it takes to make music move you.

My favorite instrument to write music is the piano. I love the orchestra, especially the strings. And also synths and all kinds of sound effects.

An important thing for me is to stay focused on the big picture. It is easy to get lost by paying too much attention to the smaller elements. However, all the details define a character of the final piece, hence it is crucial to pay attention to them.
